About Captain Beaky

Discover more about "Captain Beaky", the boat and her history

Some say Captain Beaky was built in the same shipyard as the Royal Yacht Britannia. Some say that, this year, Formula 1 teams have copied her superior aerodynamics.

But what we do know is that she had a long time serving the South West as a ferry – delivering people from Falmouth to St Mawes, from the turn of the century up right up until 2018. Harbourtours purchased her in 2021 and had last year operating from within Chichester Harbours and now is operating on the Thames.

Captain Beaky Today

Totally re-fitted, re-engined and modernised over the winter of 2021, she was commissioned by Harbour Tours to serve and give pleasure to the residents and visitors of Chichester Harbour.

“Captain Beaky” was  more than happy to take on this task and, apart from Solar Heritage, was the more environmentally friendly tour ferry in the harbour. 2023 is the year that people can enjoy her on the Thames.
